History/Background
Equestrian means horse riding any type of horse riding such as dressage, eventing, cross country, western, or fox hunting. All horses come in different colors, sizes, structure, and breeds. Some breeds are Quarter horse, Tennessee walker, Thoroughbred, Clydesdale, Mustangs, and Hanoverian. Some horses aren't treated fairly for example Tennessee Walkers are sometimes used in “The Big Lick” which means people burn their fetlocks (hooves) with harsh chemicals, chains, weights, and nails which forces the horse to lift their legs up so high because it hurts to walk. Many people think it's pretty but it's actually abuse.
Its very important to be safe when you are riding a horse. Some equipment that you would use in English Riding would be a Saddle, Sport/All Purpose boots, bridle, girth, saddle pad, breastplate/martingale, and a crop not all horses need to have all of this equipment but always remember when you are riding always wear a helmet. Most equestrians fall off and get back up. Riding is a very dangerous sport we risk our lives for this sport and even with one wrong step could kill you!.
