History/Background
On April 30, 1789, George Washington became the 1st President of the United States. On March 4, 1861 Abraham Lincoln became the 16th President of the United States. Abraham Lincoln kept the country whole during the Civil War. On April 14, 1865 Lincoln got assassinated by John Wilkes Booth, Lincoln died the next day. About 50 years later on March 4, 1913 Woodrow Wilson, became our 28th President. Woodrow Wilson brought us through WWI
20 years later on March 4, 1933, Franklin Delano Roosevelt became our 32nd President. Franklin D. Roosevelt brought us through the Great Depression and WWII. On January 20, 1961 John F. Kennedy became our 35th President. On November 22, 1963 John F. Kennedy got assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. John F. Kennedy was the most recent U.S. Presidents that got assassinated. On January 20, 1981, Ronald Reagan was inaugurated. Ronald Reagan with the help of Mikhail Gorbachev, the former President of the Soviet Union, brought down the Berlin Wall. On January 20, 2009, Barack Obama the first African-American U.S. President. The most current U.S. President, Donald Trump was inaugurated on January 20, 2017.
