History/Background: It’s important to get ready for school in the morning so you don’t look bad. If you wake up late you may not have time to get completely ready. From a girl's perspective it’s better to wake up earlier due to having makeup to apply, hair to do, and us girls like to have cute outfits. Some people like to look comfortable for school and wear sweats, stretchy shorts, joggers, etc. However there’s others who dress to impress everyday and they wear jeans, dresses, dress shirts, etc. Getting ready in the morning also consists of brushing your teeth, applying deodorant, some people take showers. Some schools require school uniforms for these students it’s easier because they don’t have to wake up and pick their clothes out.The first school uniform was called the “Cappa Clausa”.
The first person the create uniforms was Shanay Monvill and Jamaica. In 1999 over 12% of schools required school uniforms. School Uniforms were first introduced in England. In this time school Uniforms were also referred to as Bluecoats. School Uniforms also helped with rebelling. Some public schools also required uniforms. Students who did not wear their uniforms would be punished. School uniforms keep kids focused on their education, not their clothes.
