History of metal
Metal is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 60’s and early 70’s. With ties in blues-rock and plain rock, the bands that made heavy metal developed a thick, hard guitar and drum sounds, described by amplified distortion and speedy guitar solos and fast drum licks. Some of the first “metal” bands were Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin ,and Deep Purple according to experts. Metal is characterized by the loud and distorted sounds made by the instruments to make it harder. AC/DC was also a metal band that started in 1973.To make the guitars have the heaviest sound someone could plug it into a distortion pedal to make the sound better. On the drum kit they would have a double kick pedal to give it that extra bump in the sound that drives the band to sound as heavy as can be. One of the most important instruments in metal is the human voice. This is one of the least changeable while in my opinion best sounding.
Metal is a great type of music to listen to especially before sports it gets people pumped up so they want to beat the other team up badly when you play them. It is also a great way to get people’s aggressions out of themselves. One of the most weirdest sounding metal bands is Korn, there name even sounds crazy, they started the 90’s off with a new type of metal called Nu Metal. Other Nu Metal bands are Evanescence, Disturbed, Drowning Pool, and P.O.D., Nu Metal is a style that plays right on the bass of the drum and all of these bands have a similar sound. All of these bands are still going strong today and they are still making albums that are getting millions of views.
