history and background
In soccer there are rules that you must follow. These rules include not touching the ball with your hands, and if you pass the ball to the goalkeeper then he/she as the goalkeeper can’t pick it up. Another rule is that if a foul is committed in the goalie box then it is a penalty kick, and if the foul happens outside of the goalie box then it is a free kick. If you want to play in a game you must being wearing shin guards and wear the proper foot wear. Some final rules are you must kick-off at the beginning of every game and after every goal. In soccer there are multiple positions you can play as. These positions forwards, midfielders, and defenders. The forwards stay in the upper part of the field and try to score goals. The midfielders try to get the ball up the field to the forwards or try to score a goal. The defenders try to keep the other team from scoring and to help the goalkeeper.
While there are rules for soccer, there are also the consequences. The consequences for soccer are yellow and red cards. You may get a yellow if you argue with a referee, get physical with another player, or touch the ball too many times. Some other reasons why you might get a yellow card if you repeat what you did to get the first foul. If you get two yellow cards you will get a red card. If you get a red card then you have to sit out the rest of the game. Some more ways to get a red card automatically are severely injury another player, or use curse words towards another person. Soccer is in many ways fun, but be careful with what you do.
