History of Hawaii.
Hawaii, which was formed by volcanic activity is also known for its 129 volcanos. Many people know that it is the 50th state. Their state flower is the Hawaiian Hibiscus. A Hibiscus is a large bright colorful flower that is used in Hawaiian necklaces. Hawaii may seem like one big island but, there are actually 132 islands that make up the state. The main islands are Hawaii, Maui, O’ahu, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai, Niihau and Kahoolawe. This tropical island chain is worth seeing. There are many activities to do. Surfing is one things many people enjoy. Hula dancing and the limbo are traditional dances in Hawaii.

- Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States was born in Hawaii.
- Bethany Hamilton is one that many people remember. She was a survivor of a 2003 shark attack. Her left shoulder down, is missing. For a lot of people she is an inspiration. She kept going even when it was hard. Till this day, Bethany still surfs

- December 7, 1941, the attack on Pearl Harbor. 2,403 people died and 1,178 were wounded.
- 1959- Hawaii became the 50th State.
