history and background
The history of skateboarding started in the late 50s when surfers wanted something to ride on the concrete. They used a piece of wood and roller skates to make what they called concrete surfers or as we know it skateboards. They started making urethane wheels for the skateboards so they would have a fast and smooth ride. Soon they started making skateboarding decks with concave which made it better to do tricks on a skateboard. That leads us to where skateboarding is today. Nowadays the skateboard tricks are more technical and complex. The skateboarding business is very popular nowadays and is a big trend. A lot of people ride street instead of riding at a skate park. Because of the adrenaline that you get from trying to land the trick before getting kicked out of the spot or getting in trouble with the police or security guards.
With the background of skateboarding the skateboarders are either just riding the board for transportation, or you are doing tricks and other stuff with it and treating it like a sport. Treating it as a sport is doing tricks like an ollie, kickflip, tre-flip, dragon flip, heelflip, also filming people doing tricks. People that skate love to go to skateparks and other skatespots out of town that they don't get to go to often. Every trick that you do has some part of science to it. Even if you were to do a basic trick called an ollie. The science has to do with the motions involved to make the board go into the air and even out then land back on it. The ollie may seem simple but it might take sometime to get the right positioning and flick to get it but you will get it sooner or later. To do an ollie all you have to do is pop the board into the air, then slide your foot up the board to create traction which makes the board go in the air and even out, finally you jump and land on the board and you have yourself an ollie.
