History of Ufc
UFC stands for Ultimate Fighting Championship. Gracie, a master in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighting. The Gracie family was famous for the Gracie challenge a open fighting match against any member of the Gracie family. It featured kickboxing, karate, boxing, jiu jitsu, and sumo wrestling. It was a success and they wanted to have more events. In the beginning there were no weight classes. A younger smaller fighter may find themselves fighting a wrestler 2 times his size. Weight classes would be established in UFC 12. Fighters could wear clothing to match the way they fight. The Semaphore Entertainment Group (SEG) helped the UFC in early fights saying the fights had no rules and would always have a clear winner. For a while the UFC didn't partner with the state athletic commissions. The SEG just promoted the UFC as a “primal sport”. The SEG options became more limited and by the time the UFC established rules by the New Jersey Control Board it was over for the SEG.
